ABOUT DAVE:

Dave was an incredible athlete and lifter; but more importantly he was an amazing father, a loving husband, and an all-around great person.  His greatest passion was coaching his son Carson in powerlifting, and when Carson set several World Records at Nationals it was undoubtedly one of his proudest moments.  If you were to walk into Madtown Fitness on any given Saturday morning, Dave was not only there to support Carson, but to support anyone that needed it. He soon became a strong role model, and even somewhat of a father figure to many members of the Madtown Fitness community.  Whether you needed a spot, a form check, a pep talk, or even just some life advice Dave was always there to lend a helping hand with a smile and a laugh.  To all that knew him, it was truly an honor to be able to call him a friend.  He may be gone, but the impact that he made is something that will never leave.

Throughout his life, Dave accomplished many other great things.  He was an officer for the Town of Madison Police Department from 1992, until his retirement in 2011. He was a patrol officer as well as a member of the tactical team and lead their K9 Training Program. Prior to his law enforcement career, Dave played pro football in the USFL for the Arizona Wranglers and the Chicago Blitz. After football, he competed nationally in powerlifting and still holds several records to this day.  Dave’s other passions were hunting and fishing, dog training, and his reptile business. He loved wildlife and even raised an orphaned red tail hawk, Frankie and a raccoon, Mugwai.

Please join us for this meet as we celebrate the lasting impact that Dave had on all of us!
